Clarissa Churchill

Veterinary Technician

Clarissa graduated with high honors from Joliet Junior College’s Vet Tech program in May 2023, paving the way for her immediate entry into the field at Premier Paws.

With a lifelong affinity for animals stemming from her early years, Clarissa’s passion naturally led her to the veterinary industry. Her upbringing around a diverse array of animals instilled in her a deep-rooted desire to care for them. What she loves most about her work is the perpetual learning experience it offers.

Clarissa discovered her true calling when she transitioned to working full-time in a veterinary clinic. Her joy lies in aiding animals in need and conducting various diagnostic procedures. Her absolute favorite task is drawing blood from animals, a skill that allows her to make a meaningful impact on those who cannot speak for themselves.

Beyond her professional life, Clarissa enjoys spending quality time with her family, boyfriend, and her faithful dog, Taz, and loves a good movie or TV show.

Christina Cattaneo

Veterinary Technician

With over a decade of experience, Christina joined the Timberline location at Premier Paws when Dr. Powers when she took over ownership. Born and raised in Crest Hill, she’s a proud graduate of the JJC Vet Tech program. Her lifelong passion for animals began early, volunteering at the Will County Humane Society with her mom and finding little critters that needed their help.

Working with animals is not just a profession for Christina; it’s a calling. Her diverse experiences with pets and their unique personalities keep her passionate about her work.

Beyond her job, Christina enjoys an adventurous life with her two brothers, competing in various activities and relishing different cuisines. She’s a movie enthusiast, a dog walker, and an amateur gardener, but her true expertise lies in caring for animals.

Jenna Medina

Veterinary Technician

Jenna has a wealth of experience in the veterinary industry, having worked at Premier Paws for 19 years prior to Dr. Powers taking over.

Jenna’s journey in the veterinary world began when she was just 14 years old. She started working at an animal hospital, where it quickly became evident that she was following her passion. Her love for animals has been a driving force throughout her life, and her work in the veterinary practice is a labor of love.

Outside of work, Jenna enjoys quality time with her dogs, family, and friends. She’s an avid camper, a craft enthusiast, and a movie/TV aficionado – often indulging in her favorite pastimes alongside her beloved canine companions. Jenna has been a proud resident of Plainfield for the past 22 years, and her dedication to the well-being of animals is a testament to her unwavering commitment in and out of the veterinary practice.

Brandi Smith

Veterinary Technician/Receptionist

Brandi was born and raised in Crest Hill, IL, and completed her education at LTHS, in addition to attending JJC. Her journey into the veterinary industry was deeply influenced by her upbringing, surrounded by a multitude of family pets. This early exposure fostered a profound passion for animals and their well-being, ultimately steering her towards a career in their care.

For Brandi, the realization that she had found the right profession occurred when she recognized that her love for animals had been a lifelong calling, and turning it into a profession only strengthened her commitment.

Beyond her work in the veterinary field, Brandi extends her passion for animal care by running a small pet sitting business. In this role, she travels to care for people’s pets in the familiar surroundings of their own homes. Outside of her professional endeavors, Brandi finds joy in cooking for friends and family, indulging in games, and taking leisurely walks.

Savanna Figueroa

Veterinary Assistant

Since joining Timberline in April 2022 under Dr. Hitt, Savanna has showcased her dedication as a Vet Assistant, seamlessly transitioning through changes in ownership. Hailing from Joliet and later settling in Channahon, her passion for animals led her to this career path.

Savanna revels in the diversity of cats and dogs she interacts with daily. The fact that she eagerly anticipates her work each week speaks volumes about her commitment.

Outside the clinic, Savanna finds joy in her church activities, coffee shops, and shopping trips to stores like Marshall’s. With two beloved dogs, Finnigan and Koda, and a close-knit family including a twin sister, her world brims with love and care.

Annette Flynn

Receptionist

Annette is a receptionist with a passion for all animals! Beyond her role at work, she is a passionate gardener and enjoys indulging in various creative pursuits.

Cindy Garcia

Groomer

With over 20 years of grooming experience, Cindy relocated to this town after getting married and starting a family. Her journey into the veterinary industry was sparked by a decision made years ago, driven by a desire to make the grooming experience stress-free for pets.

In her role, Cindy not only focuses on making dogs look good but also strives to keep them happy and stress-free. Her passion for this goes beyond aesthetics; she is dedicated to ensuring the overall well-being of the animals she cares for.

Cindy found her calling in the veterinary profession when she witnessed the joy and lack of stress in pets when their owners picked them up. She takes pride in contributing to a seamless experience for clients, where grooming and veterinary services are conveniently offered in one place.

Beyond her professional life, Cindy is a married mother of two boys. The family shares their home with eight rescue dogs, whom they love dearly. Outside of work, they indulge in their shared love for camping, creating cherished memories together.

Sophie Kapogiannis

Floater/Kennel Assistant

Born and raised in Joliet, Illinois, Sophie attended Joliet West for her freshman year before completing her sophomore through senior years online. Sophie, currently 21, plans to enroll at Joliet Junior College soon to pursue certification as a veterinary technician.

Joining Timberline at the age of 17, Sophie found solace in working with animals, hoping to alleviate her anxiety. Having spent nearly four years at Timberline, she appreciates the dual impact of her work – not only does she contribute to the well-being of animals, but the experience also serves as a source of personal solace.

Sophie’s journey at Timberline began as a kennel worker, but over the past three years, she has gained extensive knowledge, thanks to the guidance of her former boss, Dr. Hitt, and her supportive tech co-workers. Grateful for the learning experience, she knew she had found the right profession from the moment she started at Timberline.

Outside of her veterinary responsibilities, Sophie engages in video editing, a hobby she has cultivated since the age of 13, evolving into a true passion. Additionally, she stays busy with a second job at Cracker Barrel, showcasing her dedication and work ethic beyond the veterinary field.
